15 Months Old

Graham turned 15 months old today! To celebrate we went to the mall to buy a pair of Easter shoes to match his Easter outfit, ate at Chick-fil-a, went to visit my work, and visited Dustin at his work. When we got home he did what any 15 month old would do, took a nap!

Graham is 100% obsessed with the outdoors. He squeals with excitement when we go out and cries when he has to come inside. This past week we spent a lot of time outside. If it was cool, we put on jackets. If it was raining, we played on the front porch. He loves to throw balls, play with Dustin's golf clubs, run, blow bubbles, and chase Maggie. Unfortunately, all of these things are his favorite inside activities also!

Graham's biggest accomplishment of the week was saying "Dada!" Now that he has started saying Dada, he says it all the time. Much to my dismay, more often than "Mama."

Graham and I also "made" cookies this past weekend. We bought some Easter slice and bake cookies. Graham enjoyed putting the cookies on the pan. He licked some dough first, but that's ok! It's hard to tell which cookies I put on the pan and which one's Graham did.

Girls Weekend, Guys Weekend

This past weekend I was able to go to the Grove Park Inn for a Girls Weekend with Erin, Jessica, and Shelley. While I was living it up relaxing and socializing, Dustin was at home with Graham!
It turned out to be the perfect weekend. The temperature was in the upper 60's everyday. We arrived on Thursday night and went to eat dinner in downtown Asheville. After dinner we put on comfortable clothes and went to look around the hotel. On Friday we slept in, did water aerobics, got some coffee/tea, and then headed to the spa. I cannot describe how WONDERFUL the spa was! We stayed for 8 hours, until they closed. During that time we each got a 50 minute massage, took a dip in all the pools (indoor and outdoor), sat in the hot tubs, and sweated in the saunas. It was even warm enough to lay out by the pool in our bathing suits. We also managed to eat, talk, and squeeze in reading our gossip magazines. On Saturday, we woke up and went to tour the Biltmore House. Before our tour we walked around Biltmore Village and found a cozy little place to eat breakfast. At the Biltmore, we toured the house, walked the grounds, and visited the winery. We decided to stay in downtown Asheville to eat dinner. We ate at the Flying Frog, a place suggested by several people. It's an Indian/German/Mediterranean restaurant. All of the appetizers and entrees were excellent. Upon returning to the Grove Park we put our pj's on and found some rocking chairs where we could sit and talk. The weekend was capped off by brunch on Sunday. We all left feeling full and rested.
From what I hear, Dustin's and Graham's weekend was not as relaxing! The weather was also beautiful in Greenville so the boys spent much of their time outside. They went for walks, kicked some balls, threw some balls, and played in the dirt. They were also well fed, as they ate most of their meals out. On top of chasing Graham all weekend, Dustin also picked up the house and did 3 loads of laundry. Dustin better be careful, I could get used to this lifestyle!!!

Finally, Some More Firsts

It has been a while since we have reported any new "firsts" for Graham. We finally have some! This past week Graham had his first kids meal, got his first real pair of shoes, and got his first kiss.
Graham and I met Dada and Mimi at Chick-Fil-A for lunch last week. He ate a six piece nugget box, a fruit cup, a couple of bites of Mimi's chicken sandwich, and some french fries! Next time we are going to order off the value size menu for him and the kid's menu for me! Obviously, Chick-Fil-A was a hit and he is looking forward to that treat again soon.
Dustin decided it was time to get Graham some real shoes. He and Graham went to the running store and had Graham's foot measured. It turns out he needs a "wide" shoe so we had to go online to order his them. Dustin picked out a pair of grey New Balance shoes. Graham is, of course, adorable in them. He looks so grown up in them. It takes him a few steps to get used to them each time he wears them.

Graham has learned to give kisses. He opens his mouth and leans in to your cheek. Maggie is usually his favorite target for kissing. But, this weekend he and his friend Brooke kissed! They were so sweet.

More Friends

This week we had Rivers over to play. Rivers is 7 months old and enjoyed watching Graham play. Graham did very well with Rivers until Aunt Heather came to visit. He did not like her holding Rivers. Graham was much happier when Rivers went down for a nap and he had Heather's undivided attention!
The weather was beautiful this past weekend. We were able to play outside, go for walks, and wash the car. The whole family enjoyed this little bit of spring.

Friends

These past few weeks have been filled with fun visits from friends. Some of our visitors live in town and some have been from out of town.
Brooke is one of Graham's girlfriends. She came and played with us one day when her day care was closed. They played very well together. The only time we had a problem is when I held one. If I was holding Graham, Brooke would cry. If I was holding Brooke, Graham would cry. Unfortunately, they were too big for me to hold at the same time!

All the Clamps (Luke, Alecia, Ian, Len, and Nicole) and David came to visit this weekend also. We thought the snow was going to postpone our visitors, but they all made it to Greenville. Ian, almost 2 years old, and Graham had a great time together. Dustin, Len, Luke, and David had fun together too!

Graham continues to be constantly on the go. He is so much fun to be around, but we are all tired at the end of the day! He still enjoys hiding behind chairs and playing with all of his toys. He in still not really talking but he understands what you tell him. He runs to the door to let Maggie out and to greet Dada in the afternoon. He will go to his highchair if you ask him if he wants breakfast/lunch/dinner/ or a snack. He splashes and plays with all of his toys in the tub at night. He also helps around the house. His chores include throwing his diapers in the trash can, unloading the dishwasher, putting the coffee filter in the coffee pot,and moving the clothes into the dryer.

Snow Day

We were hoping Graham would enjoy the snow more this year, but he did not. Maybe next year he will like it! He cried while we were outside. Sounds like he takes after his Mama and doesn't like to be cold! Here are pictures from our short stay outside in the snow.
